2007/8 Community Target review

2008 Targets
By when
Progress
To develop an RPI Good Practice Matrix for Category 2 properties.
31/12/07
Complete

We have developed two new matrices for those properties which we were not previously recording community and environmental initiatives. One is for commercial estates and one is for retail estates2 and both matrices include the Category 2 properties that were not captured in the old matrix.

2008 Targets
By when
Progress
To ensure that all Category 1 properties3 submit a renewed return of the RPI Good Practice Matrix, containing no fewer than 2 new environmental or community initiatives per RPI Challenge.
30/04/08
Incomplete

100% of Category 1 properties submitted renewed matrices, and all retail properties achieved at least two initiatives per RPI challenge. However, not all commercial properties managed to have two initiatives per challenge in place by the time set.

We are reviewing the RPI Good Practice Matrix with a view to improve its functionality and ease of use.

2008 Targets
By when
Progress
To ensure that all Category 2 properties4 submit a renewed annual return of the RPI Good Practice Matrix, containing no fewer than 1 new environmental or community initiative per RPI Challenge.
30/04/08
Incomplete

100% of category 2 properties submitted renewed returns by the date set. However, not all properties, both retail and commercial, managed to have at least one initiative per RPI challenge in place. All properties however did have at least one community or environmental initiative in place across the range of challenges.

On review, this target was very challenging for our PMs, and in light of feedback and our review of the Good Practice Matrix, we are changing its format and functionality. We will report on this in next years report.

2: By estates we mean those properties that have a variety of individual buildings on-site such as a business park or a retail park.
3:
Category 1 – Buildings with landlord controlled internal common parts
4: Category 2 – Buildings with landlord controlled external common parts (e.g. car parks, business or retail parks)
