Hamish Galpin – Director, Head of Small & Mid CapHamish is the Head of Hermes Small & Mid Cap boutique. He has been at Hermes since 1995, starting as a Senior Investment Analyst, and then leading the UK team from January 1997 to April 2010 when he switched to a Global focus. He assumed responsibility for when it was established in May 2007. Hamish started his career in banking at the Energy and Natural Resources division of NatWest Bank and later moved to become a corporate credit analyst at Bankers Trust Company covering European corporates. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Nottingham University. Hamish is also a Hermes Group Pension Scheme Trustee Director. |

Robert Anstey – Director, Head of US Small & Mid CapRobert joined the Hermes US Smaller Companies team in 2001. He previously worked at Bear Stearns in US Equity sales for 2 years and prior to that was on the US Equity team at private bank Brown Brothers Harriman, where he started out his investing career on Wall Street in 1994. Before this he also spent 4 years teaching Classics. Robert has an MA in Classics from Cambridge. He is a CFA charterholder. |

Mark Sherlock - Associate Director, US Small & Mid CapMark has been with the US Smaller Companies team since February 2009. He joined Hermes in 2005, spending the last four years working on the UK Focus Fund as an analyst and fund manager. Prior to this, he was an investment analyst at Rio Tinto Pension Fund where he had responsibility for the small and mid-cap portion of the portfolio. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in 2002 and is a CFA charterholder. He has a degree in Politics from Durham University. |

Alex Knox - Senior Investment Analyst, US Small & Mid CapAlex joined the Smaller Companies team in August 2009. She has 8 years industry experience, most recently as both analyst and portfolio manager as part of the UK Smaller Companies team at Morley Fund Management. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and also worked as a strategy consultant at Arthur Andersen. |

John Leahy – Director, UK Head of Small & Mid CapJohn has been with UK Small & Mid Cap as an Investment Manager since January 2001 and became head of team in April 2010. Prior to this, he worked on Hermes' US team for three years. Before joining Hermes in 1998, he helped found G. Ullmann Fund Management in 1992, a specialist US equity investment manager, where responsibilities included portfolio management, client reporting and marketing. He initially trained as a US economist with PaineWebber in London. He has a B.Sc and M.A. in Economics from Warwick University. |

David Stormont – Director, UK Small & Mid Cap EquitiesDavid joined Hermes to help manage the UK Small & Mid Cap portfolios in March 2007. Previously he worked for Montanaro Investment Managers, an independent fund management company that specialises in investing in smaller companies, where he was Head of Research for five years. After Durham University, he joined Carrington Pembroke (subsequently taken over by ABN Amro) where he worked as an analyst and then as a portfolio manager and went on to do an MBA at London Business School. Following business school, David joined Jardine Fleming Securities (Asia) where he worked as the Regional Consumer Analyst for Asia. |

Joanne Rands – Associate Director, UK Small & Mid CapJoanne joined the team in March 2007 to help manage the UK Small & Mid Cap portfolios. She started her career in Private Clients at Brewin Dolphin in Leeds before moving to HSBC, where she worked for 7 years covering UK mid and large cap stocks. She has a degree in Geography from Nottingham University. |

Neil Wilkinson – Director, Head of European Small & Mid CapNeil has been with Hermes as lead portfolio manager of the Europe ex UK Small Cap strategy since June 2004. He has also been lead manager of our Pan Europe Small Cap fund since its launch in November 2007. Prior to joining Hermes, Neil was a fund manager covering Pan-European Smaller Companies (i.e. including UK) at AIG Global Investment Group. He started his career at Cazenove & Co. after completing his degree in Economics at Durham University. He is a CFA charterholder. |

Richard Lake – Director, European Small & Mid Cap EquitiesRichard has been at Hermes since 1997, starting as an investment analyst on the European Large Cap team before moving internally to help manage Small & Mid Cap portfolios. He is the lead portfolio manager for Hermes Europe ex UK Mid Cap strategy. Richard started his career at Axa Equity & Law Investment Managers covering European ex-UK equities. He has a degree in Economics from Leicester University. |

Michael Fagan – Director, European Small & Mid CapMichael has worked at Hermes since 1995. He initially managed US Small & Mid Cap equities and Emerging Markets equities before moving to the European Small & Mid Cap team in 2004. Prior to working at Hermes he was a fund analyst for Fund Research. He has BA(Econ) from Manchester university and an MSc (Econ) from the London School of Economics. He is CFA charterholder and member of ASIP. |

David Harrison – Associate Director, European Small & Mid CapDavid joined Hermes in November 2006 to help manage our European Small & Mid Cap portfolios. Previously he worked at Close Brothers for four years, where he worked in the asset management division, running a Pan-European equity portfolio. Initially David worked at Goldman Sachs International in investment research. He has a degree in Economics and Politics from Southampton University and is a CFA charterholder. |

Stephen Martin – Director, Head of Japan Small & Mid CapStephen joined Hermes in March 2005 to support the launch of the Nissay Hermes Stewardship Fund, and moved internally to establish a Japanese Small & Mid Cap team at the beginning of 2009. His investment career began at Equity and Law in 1987 as a UK Equity Analyst, switching to Japanese equities at United Friendly in 1989. After serving as Head of Japan there and at Royal & Sun Alliance Investment Management from 1991 to 1999, he switched to Pan-European Equities in 2000. He was Head of Institutional Equities at ISIS from 2002 until its merger with F&C in 2004. Stephen holds a degree in PPE from Oxford. |

Stuart Cox – Director, Japan Small & Mid CapStuart Cox is a portfolio manager for the Japan Small & Mid Cap strategy. He joined the team in 2009 after spending four years with JPMorgan Asset Management, based since 2007 in Tokyo. Previously, he managed Japanese equity portfolios at Insight Investment, Rothschild Asset Management and Lombard Odier. Stuart obtained a Masters degree in Investment Analysis and B.A. in Financial Economics |

Rebecca Chesworth – Director, Investment SpecialistRebecca joined Hermes in November 2009 as Investment Specialist for the team. She has 20 years experience in the equities markets, including fund management roles at Rothschild Asset Management and Insight Investment. She started her career as an investment analyst at BWD Rensburg, where she became a Company Director and Head of Internal Research. Prior to Hermes, Rebecca was the Investment Specialist for UK Equities at Threadneedle. Rebecca has a degree in Economics & Economic History and is Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. |
