Our business

Hermes is separated into two distinct functions: asset management and pension fund management.

The asset management arm of Hermes operates under a multi-specialist structure, and is made up of a series of investment capabilities ranging across a variety of asset classes.

BT Pension Scheme Management ("BTPSM") acts as the executive arm for the BT Pension Scheme, which is also the 100% owner of Hermes. This ownership and structure give us a privileged insight which informs our product development. That same ownership and structure also means we play a leadership role on the issues that are important to investors.

In addition to these, we have also developed a world renowned equity overlay service, the Hermes Equity Ownership Service ("HEOS"). HEOS is based on the fundamental belief that companies with concerned and involved shareholders are more likely to achieve superior long term returns than those without.

Hermes is independent of any broader financial services group. We invest funds on behalf of a number of different organisations, including pension funds, insurance companies, government entities and financial institutions, as well as charities and endowments.
