Hermes Fund Managers Strengthens Business Development Team With Five Senior Appointments

Hermes Fund Managers (‘Hermes’) has made five senior hires as it looks to expand distribution of its leading specialist investment strategies.

The additions significantly enhance Hermes' sales and marketing capabilities as the multi-boutique enters the UK wholesale marketplace for the first time and embarks on a major global distribution drive.

Rob Page, one of the UK asset management industry's most experienced marketing executives, will join the company in September as Head of Marketing and Communications. Page, who has headed up marketing teams at Barings, New Star and Ignis Asset Management during his 25-year career, joins from Ardevora Asset Management.

In addition to Page, Hermes has also appointed four Business Development Directors to cover both institutional and wholesale channels.

Paul Voûte
joins the company to promote its strategies across the Benelux region and other Northern European markets. With over 16 years’ experience, Paul was previously Institutional Senior Sales Representative at GE Asset Management, covering the UK and Benelux. He has extensive experience of working with highly-specialised equity, fixed income and alternative products.

James Lucas
has joined the team to help grow Hermes’ position in the UK institutional market. He was previously Director of Institutional Business at Henderson Global Investors, where he developed a strong track record providing clients with solutions across equities, fixed income, hedge funds and other alternative asset classes.

Clive Selman
joins from Man Group to drive Hermes' wholesale business in the UK. During his 12 years at Man, Clive sold long-only equities, hedge fund UCITS strategies and hedge fund of funds in the wholesale space in the UK and Europe.

Hermes has also strengthened its US capabilities with the addition of Melissa Whitney. Specialising in alternative strategies, Melissa previously ran Sales and Marketing at Marblegate Asset Management in the US. With more than 20 years’ experience, she has also held positions at Jana Partners, Highside Capital Management and Tudor Investment Corporation.

Harriet Steel, Global Head of Business Development at Hermes Fund Managers, says: “Strengthening our business development capabilities will enable us to promote Hermes’ outstanding investment track record across a range of asset classes. This will be instrumental in attracting third party assets from a broader institutional and wholesale client base across the UK, Europe and the US.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of such talented individuals, who are well-respected in the industry. I am proud that they have chosen Hermes to embark on the next stage of their careers.

“They will play a pivotal role in driving this business in the next stage of its growth and reaffirm our commitment to being a first class asset manager in both the institutional and wholesale markets globally.”
